What makes a font a PeachCreme font?

Our fonts contain special features: ligatures (letters that connect) and swashes (letters with beautiful decorative tails).

What are ligatures?

Letters designed to link together. When you type pairs like th, ll, or oo, they automatically blend into a single continuous handwritten shape.

What are swashes?

Extra versions of letters that feature long tails or decorative loops, used at the start or end of words to make them look custom-drawn.

How to copy a glyph (Mac, Windows & phone)

When an app has no glyph panel, you pick the letter here, copy it, and paste it in. Tap any picture to enlarge and zoom.

On a Mac — Font Book

  1. Open Font Book and select your font.
  2. If you don't see every character, switch to Repertoire view (the grid button at the top).
  3. Scroll to the decorative letters — they sit near the end.
  4. Click the one you want, then Copy, and paste it into your app.

On Windows — Character Map

  1. Open Character Map and choose your font.
  2. Tick Advanced view.
  3. Set Group by to Unicode Subrange, then choose Private Use Characters.
  4. Click a glyph → Select → Copy, then paste (set the text to the same font).
On a phone? There's no Font Book or Character Map. Install a glyph-viewer app (for example Unicode Character Viewer on iPhone/iPad, or a glyph app on Android), copy the swash there, then paste it into your app.

Glyph
A single character shape in a font — a letter, a swash, a ligature, an ornament.
Alternate
A different version of the same letter.
Swash
An alternate with an added decorative stroke.
Ligature
Two letters joined into one shape, like th. PeachCreme uses standard ligatures, which appear automatically.
Stylistic set (SS01, SS02…)
A group of alternates you can switch on together in design software.
Glyphs panel
Where design software shows and applies these extra letters.
Character Map (Windows) / Font Book (Mac)
The system tools for viewing and copying glyphs.
Weld (Cricut / Silhouette)
Joins overlapping script letters into one shape before cutting.
